Avatar: The Last Airbender RPG

420 years after the fall of Ozai, decades of tranquility have brought about an era where peace is no longer only a mere philosophical abstraction. However beyond the grasp of the Four Nations, a long lost legacy resurfaces.

I understand the risk of godmoding. After watching the show, the only way I can see a non-bender realistically surviving in melee would be with the warning. Granted, reaction time would not allow anything extreme, just increase dodge rates. Certainly not invincible, no matter how much warning you have, a giant fireball launched in melee can't be dodged. I considered playing around with nerve strikes, but that felt too powerful. Considering how telegraphed most bending is, and the focus it takes, a surface scan would be all that's needed for this. Certainly not reading the minds of everyone around, learning deep dark secrets, and dodging dozens of simultaneous attacks. He's athletic, but physically not superhuman (reason he has limbs to replace...)

I felt that the loss of senses would be a good balance to that kind of power. He could touch 5 friendly minds, but limited to 1 or 2 hostile brains. I know better than to force any action onto another player, and I have no desire to create anything overly powered, just different. He can't effect the world in any way a non-bender couldn't. Weaknesses and flaws make a character fun, in my opinion.

Like I said I leave that up to Kouzai the head admin to grade once you have your Application up. I am sorry I can not give you much detail about mind bending as I avoided it as much as possible with my characters. I really have no understanding with it, so I avoid it.

I understand. Finally question before I finish my submission, the template lists smooth, rough, feathers, scales, or fur as options for skin. How is this accomplished? Are there non-human options for a sentient creature? Some kind of Frankenstein Chimera? That clues me into a large number of potential stories.

I suspected as much. Thank you.

Though now I'm thinking of a blood-bender that is bending appendages attached to his body...
