Ok, so I noticed that there is a gap in Yami's history: How did she find out she is the 5-tails and the princess of the air nomads? Well, the following story helps to answer these questions. So please, read if you are interested, and enjoy!

How Yami found the truth

Year: 733 AO

Fear. That was all Yami could think about. It had already been six years since she ran away from home. She thought she could make it, but she had been on her own for so long, and so alone. Everywhere she went she was constantly afraid. Every little thing scared her, like the thunder booming outside the dark cave she is sitting in, crying.

"I want to go home!" she cried. She was sitting against the cave wall, hugging her legs, pressing her eyes into her knees. Fireball, her only companion, made a low rumbling sound from his throat and pressed his head into Yami. She looked up and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him. "I wish I could go back. But I can't. Not after that." she said. Plus, she was completely lost, sitting in a cave, waiting out the storm.

"Such a terrible thing. A little girl, all alone, without a human friend in the world." said a deep voice. Yami hugged Fireball tighter. "W-who are you? What do you want with me?" Yami said. She stretched her hand out in front of her, holding a small flame in her hand, trying to illuminate the dark cave. She could only see a silhouette of a man, standing in the shadows. "You needn't worry about me, child. However, you may want to worry about your other visitor." the man said.

Yami looked up at him, confused. "Other visitor?" she asked. The man laughed an evil laugh. "Its time for this old necromancy bender to have a little laugh!" he said. "Now...lets see...you are an orphan, correct? Well then, lets see who we can bring here to visit you," he said, then he disappeared. "Hey! Where did you go?" Yami demanded, then she paused as she heard footsteps behind her. "Hello, Yami." said a familiar voice. Yami turned around. Her eyes widened in shock.

"D-Daddy?" she she said, tears filling her eyes. She stood up slowly. Fireball stepped back warily. Yami, however, started walking forward. Then she ran into his arms. "My child, there is much to tell you that I wish you could have known before i passed." Yami stopped and stepped back. "Yes, i'm not really here. I am only being manipulated by the man you just met. He has temporarily brought me back from the dead." he said.

"Come and sit, there is much you should know." he said, sitting against the cave wall. "Tell me, Yami, have you ever felt any kind of power inside you, maybe a dark voice in your head?" he asked. Yami shook her head no. "Good, then it's not too late for you to know and be ready." he said. "What are you talking about?" she asked.

"Yami, there is...something living inside of you." he said. Yami's face went pale. "What do you mean there's something living inside of me?" she asked, a little afraid. "Do you remember the stories about the tailed beasts we told you when you were a child? Well...one of those beasts is living inside of you." he said. He paused to let that sink in. Yami just stared at him in shock.

"If this is true, why didn't you tell me sooner? Why didn't you tell me six years ago?" she asked. "We had wanted to wait to protect you. If you knew, then the beast would start to have an influence on you. We wanted to make sure you were ready to handle its power. I would have wanted to wait even longer, but this may be the only chance I get." he said.

Yami sat there, thinking. Now that he mentioned it, she sometimes felt stronger if she was ever in battle, and when she shot her father...that wasn't natural shooting. The tailed beast must have had some influence over her target. "Well then, which one is it?" she asked. "You have inside you the beast known as the 5-tailed dolphin-horse." he said. "Dolphin-horse? Then, does that mean-""Yes, Yami, you are a water bender as well as a fire bender. Use your talents wisely." he said. "Wow, i'm a water bender..." she thought.

Before she could think about it more, her father grabbed her hand. "There is something else you ought to know. You see, Yami, the tailed beast doesn't just get sealed into a random child. No, it was royalty that the beasts were sealed into. Yami, you are a princess, a princess of the air nomads." he said. Yami gasped. "Me? A princess? But how?" she asked. "Your grandfather-that is to say, your mother's father-was a prince, the second in line for the throne. His elder sibling took the throne, and he was soon forgotten about. But he still lived in the temples with his wife and daughter-your mother. We even lived there just after you were born. But then..." his voice trailed off.

"What, daddy, what happened next?" she asked him. "Battles were raging all over the world. The tailed beasts were distributed to the four national royalties. Because you were an infant at the time, the beast was sealed inside of you." he said. "Afterward, we were told to flee the palace, to hide you from people who would seek your powers, and that's when we settled in the Village of Peace." he said. Yami sat back against the wall, deep in thought.

Her father then began to stand up. "Wait! Where are you going? I still have to ask you why...why you did it? Why did you kill mommy?" she asked. He shook his head. "My time here has come to an end. The answer will be revealed to you in the future, I promise you. But now I must say goodbye." he said. And with that, he collapsed to the ground, then seemed to disintegrate into nothingness. "Well that was certainly interesting. I figured he would be the best one to tell you the truth."

Yami turned around to see the same man from before standing there. She still couldn't see him clearly, but she knew from his words that he had already known, and that he was actually trying to help her. "W-who are you?" she asked as a tear slid down her cheek. "Ah, so many questions. But i'm afraid I have no answers. We may meet again one day, and when we do, you will know who I am." he said, then disappeared into the shadows once more.

Yami looked outside to see that the storm had let up. So, the 5-tails. And to top it all off, a princess! I would have never thought it possible. I had always thought I was nobody. But it looks like I have a bit of an important role to play in the fate of the world. I guess its time to start a journey, to find a teacher, get stronger, and learn more about this thing inside me. she thought, looking at the rising sun in the east. Fireball walked up next to her and pushed his head under her arm. She smiled and scratched his neck, causing him to collapse. She laughed a little, something she hadn't done in six long years.

More stories to come!

PostSubject: Re: Some of my characters stories   Mon May 12, 2014 10:28 pm

This is the story about my character Kaia Menma and how she found the group that I randomly made up that has nothing to do with the plot: Kyson Corp, a toy company in disguise. However, the leader Kyson, has turned it into a spy agency that he uses to hire youth who want to make a difference in the world, and gives them the opportunity to help people in need. However, as a part of his ambitions to rid the world of all evil, he occasionally sends his operatives on more dangerous missions, some of which requiring assassination. Kaia is a member of this group, along with an NPC named David.

I bring you: Finally Found

Kyson Thames sat at his desk, looking through a sheet of papers, when a young boy, about the age of 14, ran into the room. "What is it now, David?" Kyson asked. David was breathing heavily. "Sir, some of our spies heard some noise out in the forest. We don't know who it is, but I was sent to come and get you." Kyson stood up angrily. "And what makes you think this noise wasn't just some random animal?" he asked. David backed up a little bit. "I wasn't there in person, but one guy told me that he heard singing. A girl's voice."

At this, Kyson grabbed his sword and strapped it to his waist, then pushed David aside and rushed out of the room. Could it be her? Could it be my little girl? he thought. Unknown to any of the employees, Kyson's daughter had been kidnapped five years previously. He had no idea if she was alive her not, but hearing that a girl was found in the woods gave him a glimmer of hope. However, that hope was soon shattered as he saw the child who had been singing, now lying unconscious on the ground. It certainly wasn't his daughter.

------------

It had been two weeks since Kaia had run away from home. She was out of food, and starving to death. Her eagle, Rafa, would bring her small game, but without a way to make a fire, she couldn't eat the meat. She didn't have a knife to skin the animals anyway. Her only hope at this point was to find a town, a small village, some place for her to beg for food, and hopefully find a kindhearted person who was willing to feed her. Unfortunately, she knew she wasn't going to make it that far.

Kaia sat in a clump of bushes. She looked down at Rafa, concern evident on his face. She gently touched his head, then weakly, her hand fell back to her side. "Don't worry. I'm okay." She said reassuringly, but she knew that Rafa's animal instincts would tell him otherwise. Kaia was starving to death, and there was nothing that anybody could do about it.

Kaia had no idea that the sentries of Kyson Corp. were listening in the nearby trees. She just gently began to sing. Her voice was weak, but the song was beautiful just the same. "Leaves from the vine falling so slow, like little tiny shells drifting in the foam. Little soldier boy, come marching home. Brave soldier boy comes marching home." As she finished the last line, she closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

-------------

Kyson picked up the pale body of Kaia. He placed his hand near her mouth. "She's alive, but barely. We need to get her back to HQ, stat. She is very close to death." He said, handing Kaia over to David, who was waiting behind him. David stared at Kaia for a moment, finding her to be beautiful. "David! Go!" Kyson said sternly, and David snapped out of his trance and ran back toward headquarters, yelling to some of the sentries, "Get the medical team! Tell them it's an emergency!"

The message moved quickly, and some medical specialists met David outside. "Hand her to us. We'll take her." David shook his head. "Just let me carry her. It's faster that way. We just need to get her inside!" he said. David was rushed inside the building and into a room with a small bed, where he gently placed Kaia. A healer, who looked to be about 12, examined Kaia. "This isn't good. She's starving to death. We need to get nutrition into her, or she will die. David, we need you to wait outside, okay?" said the young healer. Reluctantly, David stepped out into the hall.

He sat in the hall, waiting. After a few minutes, Kyson came inside and sat next to him. "You are worried about her? This is different. I have never seen you fall for a girl so easily, my boy." he said. David's face turned a light shade of pink. "Fallen for her? Please, I haven't even talked to her!" he said. Kyson laughed and stood, walking back to his office. Just outside the door, he stopped and turned around. "David, since I haven't had anywhere to put you, your next assignment is to aid me in nursing this girl back to health. Then you shall aid in her training. I want to recruit her. Something inside me says she has potential. I think we should bring out that potential." Smiling, David nodded, and Kyson walked into his office.

This is the story building on Yami's past. It's more detail as to how Yami found her Dragon, Fireball. This takes place shortly after Yami has run away from home, at age 6. Enjoy!

Unusual Partnership

Year: 727 AO

A young, six year old Yami Sentoki, has just run away from home. "Yami...will I ever see you again?" asked her cousin and best friend, Tsumi. She shook her head as she tried to fight the tears. "I don't know. But don't follow me. You need to stay home, with your mommy and daddy. But...I don't have a mommy and daddy anymore. So...goodbye, Tsumi." she said, before she hugged him, then turned and ran off. She didn't look back

Meanwhile, in a nearby village, a large, black dragon, known as a Night Fury, is burning down buildings and stealing food as the villagers are thrown into a panic. "What's The Flying Demon doing here?" yelled an old man, who had just realized what was happening. The Flying Demon was the name that the local people had given this dragon, because if its pitch black color and its flight. "Just get out of here, old man! There's no hope for us!" said a teenager as he ran past. The old man turned and fled along with the rest of the village.

The dragon, however, wasn't pleased, and he followed the people out. Unfortunately, he lost them, and couldn't find any of them. That's a shame. It's always fun to freak humans out, he thought.

------------

Two days. It had been two days since Yami ran away. She was out of food and water, and was starving. Unable to walk anymore, she was sitting in a grove of trees, crying out whatever tears she had left. She froze in place when she heard a low growl, and quickly jumped to her feet. Out of the shadows walked a pitch black dragon that was eyeing her curiously. Yami screamed and backed into a nearby tree, breathing heavily. "P-please don't hurt me, mister dragon!" she managed to say. The dragon stopped and studied her.

She's only a child. And by the looks of it, a runaway. So young, too, he thought. Yami just cowered in fear, making pitiful whimpering noises. Slowly, The Flying Demon stepped closer to her, approaching her face. She tried desperately to climb the tree, but to no avail. Finally, the dragon was right in front of her face. She closed her eyes, ready for death. What she got instead was completely unexpected. Instead of killing her, the dragon had actually started licking her face.

Yami would have opened her eyes, but there was dragon spit all over her face, and she had to wipe it off, before she could finally open her eyes to see that the dragon was no longer showing his teeth, and his eyes showed compassion. Maybe I can help this girl. She looks like she is starving, and dehydrated. Maybe I can protect her, Flying Demon thought. Yami slowly started to smile, and wrapped her arms around his head. "Thank you. Thank you, Fireball." Fireball? Interesting name. Well, I suppose it's better than Flying Demon. I'm not that scary, Fireball thought.

Suddenly, he perked his ears, and ran out of the clearing. Confused, Yami waited for him to come back. When he finally did, he brought back a dead rabbit. He placed it on the ground and shot fire at it, cooking the rabbit and burning off all of its fur. He then nudged it toward Yami. Hungry, she was too concerned about eating than she was about what she was eating, and ate the rabbit. Fireball then grabbed a water pouch that Yami carried with her, and once again ran off, only to return a few minutes later, the pouch full of fresh water. Yami smiled, and hugged him again. This time, he used his head to toss her into the air, and she landed on his back, where he took off to the skies.

PostSubject: Re: Some of my characters stories   Fri Jul 25, 2014 4:12 pm

Okay, so I have noted in a few of my topics that Yami had some weapons and stealth training and such before the current time. This is the story of that training, or at least a bit of it. The idea of Yami, by the way, came from the popular book series, Rangers Apprentice. If you haven't read it, i would strongly recommend it to you. It's a great adventure series that i think everyone on this site would enjoy.

Becomming a ranger

Year: 734 AO

It had been a year since Yami's visit from her undead father. She never saw that necromancy bender again, though she had searched rigorously for him. However, her search would have to wait. She was out of money, and her combat skills left a lot to be desired. Added to that, there wasn't a lot of game in the area, so she was low on food as well. Hunting wasn't her strong suit to begin with, and with no animals to hunt, the struggle for survival became very real. Yet she somehow managed it, living on the bare minimum. That was how she grew up, and it seemed that was how she would always stay. She lived each day with only the determination to make it to the next. Her life became dark and empty. She stayed away from public places, and her only companion was her dragon, Fireball. That is, until that one day that changed everything.

On this day, Yami stumbled into a camp of oddly dressed people. They wore gray and green mottled cloaks, a camouflage that made it hard to even focus on them. They each carried longbows and wore belts with double knife scabbards. It also seemed that each one of them had their own horse. Each horse was not very big, but looked strong, and Yami had no doubt that what they lacked in bulk they made up for with speed and stamina. The people in the camp seemed friendly enough. One was cooking, while the other was setting up a tent. It didn't take long for them to notice that Yami was there. Faster than any movement Yami had seen, they both had their bows in their hands and arrows drawn. "State your name and business!" said the one who had been cooking. He seemed younger than the other one, who had a beard with strands of gray in it.

"M-my name is Yami. I have no business with you, i'm just looking for food," she said, indicating the small bow in her hand that was obviously meant for a beginner. The two men looked at each other, then lowered their bows. "You are just a child. What are you doing out here on your own? Where are your parents?" asked the older man. "I don't have any parents. I'm on my own," she answered. The older man didn't seem affected by her statement, but the younger seemed to have a glint of compassion in his eyes. He turned to the other and said, "Halt, do you think we can give this child food and shelter? Just for one night?" the older man seemed deep in thought, then nodded. "Let her use your tent, Will. We can share mine. And make sure you have enough food for all of us, he said, putting his arrow back in his quiver and slinging his bow on his back. The younger, Will, knelt by the fire again.

About ten minutes later, both tents were set up, and the three of them were gathered around the fire, eating the food Will had cooked. "So tell me, Yami, what happened to your parents, if you don't mind me asking. Halt elbowed him sharply in the ribs, but Yami just put her hand up. "It's okay, I don't mind," and she told them the story of what had happened back in the Village of Peace. When she had finished, Will and Halt sat back, taking in what she said. "So...you have an evil demon sealed inside of you, Halt commented. Yami nodded. "This beast is what got me into this mess. And i doubt it will help me get out of it," she answered.

Will stood up. "Maybe the beast can't get you out of your mess, but maybe we can. Yami, how would you like to be a Ranger's apprentice?" he asked. Halt stood up as well. "Will, are you sure you can handle this? Not many rangers take on apprentices as young as you are, and hardly ever has there been a girl in the ranger corpse," he chastised. Will nodded. "I know, and I think i'm ready. If anybody can train this girl, I can, and you know it, too," he answered. Halt sat back down. "Very well. Yami, if you choose to accept, you will come with us back to Will's assigned area, a small fief outside of Vermilion City. Yami leaned back into the shadows a little bit. "I don't know, I will need to think about it. I will tell you my answer in the morning," she said. Will nodded in agreement.

That night, Yami lay on the ground, thinking about what it would be like to be a ranger. She didn't really know much about what the rangers were. Yet these two men seemed like trained warriors, and they seemed happy as well. Just as she was pondering it, a small voice said in the back of her mind, Don't do it. That settled it. If the beast told her not to, that meant that she should.

The next morning, as Yami helped to clean up the camp, Will walked over to her. "So, are you ready for this? Do you want to be a Ranger?" Yami smiled. "Yes. I am completely certain of that." "Good. Your training starts now. Tug here will take you down a 3 Kilometer path, that loops back around to here. You need to follow him," Will said, gesturing to one of the horses.
